(+) : tambah, plus
Contoh :
(-) : kurang, minus
- 2 + 2 (dua tambah dua, two plus two )
- 15 + 17 (lima belas tambah tujuh belas, fifteen plus seventeen)
Contoh :
(x) atau (*) : kali, times
- 6 – 4 (enam kurang empat, six minus four)
- 96 – 65 (sembilan puluh enam kurang enam puluh lima, ninety-six minus sixty-five)

(÷) atau (/): bagi, divided by
- 5 x 3 (lima kali tiga, five times three)
- 45 * 67 (empat puluh lima kali enam puluh tujuh, forty-five times sixty-seven)
Contoh:
(=) : sama dengan, equals
- 12 ÷ 3 (lima bagi tiga, five divided three)
- 45 / 5 (empat puluh lima kali enam puluh tujuh, forty-five times sixty-seven)
Contoh:
- 10 + 4 – 6 = 8 (sepuluh tambah empat kurang enam sama dengan delapan, ten plus four minus six equals eight)
- 5 x 3 ÷ 5= 3 : (lima kali tiga bagi lima sama dengan lima, five times three divided by five equals five)
(<) : lebih kecil dari, is less than
Contoh:
7 < 10 (tujuh lebih kecil dari sepuluh, seven is less than ten)
(>) : lebih besar dari, is greater than
Contoh:
10 > 7 (sepuluh lebih besar dari tujuh, ten is greater than seven)
(≤) : lebih kurang atau sama dengan, is less than or equal to
Contoh :
4 + 1 ≤ 6 (empat tambah satu lebih kurang atau sama dengan enam, four plus one is less than or equal to six)
(≥), lebih besar atau sama dengan, is greater/more than or equal to
Contoh:
5 + 7 ≥ 10 (lima tambah tujuh lebih besar atau sama dengan sepuluh, five plus seven is greater than or equal to ten)
(≠) : tidak sama dengan, is not equal to
contoh:
12 ≠ 15 (dua belas tidak sama dengan lima belas, twelve is not equal to fifteen)
Pecahan (Fraction)
Beberapa cara penulisan dan penyebutan bilangan pecahan dalam bahasa Inggris
Untuk pecahan yang lebih besar/kompleks, gunakan kata over:
- 1/2 : one half (seperdua, setengah)
- 1/3 : one third (sepertiga)
- 1/4 : one quarter (seperempat)
- 1/5 : one fifth (seperlima)
- 3/4 : three quarters (tiga per empat)
- 2/3 : two third (dua per tiga)
- 1 1/2 : one and a half (satu seperdua/setengah)
- 1 1/3 : one and a third (satu sepertiga)
- 1 1/4 : one and a quarter (satu seperempat)
- 2 3/4 : two and three quarters (dua tigaperempat)
- 34/259 : thirty four over two hundred and fifty nine
- 218/576 : two hundred and eighteen over five hundred and seventy six
Bagaimana Menyebut angka “0″
1) 0 = oh (baca : “ow”), untuk:
- Sesudah angka desimal (after a decimal point), contoh : 9.02 (nine point oh two).
- Menyebutkan nomor ruangan (gedung atau hotel), contoh : room 101 (room one oh one)
- Menyebutkan nomor telepon : 7600124 (seven six oh oh one two four)
- Menyebutkan tahun : 1908 (nineteen oh eight)
2) 0 = nought (buka kamus untuk mengetahui cara pengucapannya), untuk menyebutkan angka nol sebelum angka desimal (before a decimal point)
- 0.17 : nought point one seven, bukan
nought point seventeen- 0.278 : nought point two seven eight (US zero point two seven eight), bukan
nought point two hundred and seventy eight- 0.06 : nought poin oh oh six
3) 0 = zero, untuk:
- temperatur : -10oC (10 degrees below zero)
- US English : paling umum digunakan dalam American English (termasuk point 1 dan 2 diatas)
4) 0 = nil, digunakan dalam pertandingan sepakbola
- Chelsea 2 MU 0 (Chelsea two Manchester United nil)
5) 0 = love, digunakan dalam pertandingan tennis
- 20 – 0 (twenty love)
Penulisan Angka (Writing Numbers)
Untuk penulisan angka, ada beberapa kaidah yang berlaku:
Gunakan tanda [ - ], hypen untuk penulisan bilangan 21 s/d 99:
Gunakan and (hanya berlaku untuk British English) untuk penulisan angka ratusan:
- 73 : seventy-three
- 44 : forty-four (bukan fourty-four)
Untuk memisahkan digit ribuan, gunakan [ , ] comma:
- 785 : Seven hundred and eighty-five
Untuk memisahkan digit desimal, gunakan [ . ], dot:
- 1,560 : one thousand five hundred and sixty
- 422,333 : Four hunded twenty-two thousand, three hundred and thirty-three

- 6.35 : six point three five
- 761.21 : Seven hundred and sixty-one point two one
